The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate a multiple-vehicle
fatal crash that occurred in late October on Interstate 95 in Stuart.
According to the Indian River County News, the car accident happened just
before 2 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31 just a little south of Kanner Highway.
Apparently, a 31-year-old man from Port St. Lucie began heading south on
I-95 in a northbound lane. The Florida Highway Patrol hasn't said
why the man, who was a veteran of the Iraq War, was going the wrong way.
Not long after he started going down I-95 the wrong way, the man's
2013 Toyota Tacoma collided with a 2003 Ford Explorer. The SUV rolled
over as a result of the crash. The resulting wreckage proved to be a hazard
to other motorists; eventually, seven vehicles were involved in a resulting pileup.
The 31-year-old man in the SUV died as a result of the accident, as did
a 26-year-old Port St. Lucie man. A 27-year-old Fort Pierce man was seriously
injuries in the accident and a 21-year-old Port St. Lucie man sustained
