Attorney Lauri J. Goldstein Makes a Sweet DonationLauri Goldstein with Patrick Slattery, Executive Director of House of Hope and two volunteer helpers.

Stuart, FL - Who can resist buying Girl Scout cookies during the cookie buying  season ?

Not many people, that's for sure. Ms. Goldstein purchased nine cartons of cookies to help out a colleague's Girl Scout troop but rather than keep them for herself, she wanted to share them with those less fortunate. Ms. Goldstein donated all nine cases to The House of Hope in Stuart,  a nonprofit agency, founded in 1984, that provides food, clothing, emergency financial assistance and life-changing case management services to Martin County residents.

Lauri J. Goldstein Provides Community Support 24/7

What is big and bright, can be seen from a distance and helps charities all over the Treasure Coast? The answer is Attorney Lauri J. Goldstein’s ads on the digital billboard at the corner of Monterey and Kanner Highway. Ms. Goldstein was one of the first businesses to sign up for the billboard and knew then that she wanted to use it to help others in the community.

One of the best features of the board is the ability to change messages quickly. When the Haitian earthquake occurred, Ms. Goldstein immediately put up two messages; one to donate to the American Red Cross and another to announce that donations were being accepted at the Stuart office. All the donations were taken to Missionary Flights International for transportation to Haiti.

Another public service has been signage reminding drivers “Don’t Drink and Drive” around the holidays as well as messages for food donations to the House of Hope and support of the Treasure Coast Food Bank’s recent fundraiser “Fete du Vin 2010.”

Joanne Towner, development director of the House of Hope commented,” Ms. Goldstein’s billboard support of the House of Hope food drive and our recent fundraising fashion show have definitely made a difference. As soon as the Hearts of Hope luncheon message was posted, our phones rang with new reservations.”

Some of the other charities and events have included the Road to Victory Military Museum’s Open House, ArtsFest, MusicFest, Tykes and Teens, The Pine School, Florida Oceanographic Society Swashbuckler, the Port Salerno Seafood Festival and the St. Lucie County Fair.

Ms. Goldstein’s community support represents thousands of dollars of advertising support and the invaluable added exposure of non-profits events to a steady stream of drivers and passengers.
