A Fort Pierce man has died following an accident on Interstate 95 near Grant-Valkaria.
Florida Today reported that the accident happened around 5:45 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24 about seven miles south of the Malabar Road exit in Palm Bay.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a tire separated from the 49-year-old man's truck, causing his to lose control and crash. He was ejected from his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Now, as a truck accident lawyer in Martin County, I most often deal with accidents that involve at least two vehicles, so why am I mentioning this single-vehicle accident?
First, it illustrates the need to ensure that your vehicle is properly maintained. I have seen far too many car accidents caused by malfunctioning vehicles. This is one very preventable source of traffic accidents.
Second, it shows that a car crash can happen without a moment's notice and can leave things drastically altered, but not for the better.
Lastly, it's a painful demonstration of the fact that trucks are dangerous. That is not the same thing as saying they're "unsafe," but it just true that truck accidents cause many injuries and death every single year.
As a personal injury attorney, I have devoted my career to helping people who have been hurt in car, motorcycle and truck accidents, or people who have lost their loved ones in such accidents.
