A 20-year-old Florida woman's life was cut tragically short in a car accident late last month.
According to Space Coast Daily, the Cocoa resident was southbound on U.S. 1 around 9:40 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24. The accident occurred when a 36-year-old Vero Beach man traveling in the opposite direction lost control of his vehicle, crossed the median and struck her car. It is not immediately clear why the man lost control of his car.
The woman died as as result of the accident, while the man was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
The accident remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol. Preliminary investigation does not suggest that drugs or alcohol played a factor in the fatal collision.
