Two Port St. Lucie residents were killed in a car accident in Palm City on Sunday, May 18.
According to the WPTV, the two deceased were a couple -- 82-year-old James Duck and his 75-year-old wife, Denise Duck.
The Ducks had a green light and were heading into the intersection of Martin Highway and Martin Downs Boulevard when their Toyota Prius was struck sideways by a Ford F350 heading west on Martin Highway.
The Ducks, who were wearing their seat belts, were killed on impact.
None of the three people in the pickup truck were injured. The cause of the accident remains under investigation. No statement has been made regarding criminal charges.
Stories like this remind us that car accidents need no more than the blink of an eye to change one's life in the worst possible way. It is something we don't like to think about, but it's true.
As attorneys, we help clients file personal injury or wrongful death lawsuits after car accidents. No legal outcome is ever guaranteed, but when these lawsuits are successful, the outcome can be used to defray the costs of lost wages, medical expenses and (in the case of fatal accidents) funeral costs and loss of companionship. We see our mission as helping clients seek a measure of justice in an effort to redress the wrongs done to them.
