A Florida TV station has been conducting an interesting investigation into apparent cases of car dashboards melting and causing traffic accidents.
According to WPTV, people involved in four Florida car accidents -- two in Miami and one each in Pembroke Pines and West Palm Beach -- have filed complaints with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration over their dashboards.
Apparently, the dashboards are melting in our hot, sticky Florida weather and this creates a sheen of reflective melted plastic. The drivers all said the distraction created by the reflection caused them to get into car crashes.
Evidently, the problem is linked to the type of plastic used in the dashboards, rather than to a specific make or model of vehicle.
As a Stuart, FL car accident lawyer, this story caught my attention. It certainly seems as though a melting dashboard could become an issue in a lawsuit filed over a car accident. Since we often take car, motorcycle and truck accident cases, we know that no two are alike because of issues and circumstances such as this.
If you have been injured in a motorcycle, truck or accident collision, it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to speak about what happened with an attorney.
