Interstate 95 Rollover Crash

Multiple vehicles were in a Palm Beach County accident along northbound Interstate 95 on Wednesday, May 6, according to the Sun Sentinel. A Florida Highway Patrol sergeant said that the incident began when a 1998 Mercedes-Benz ML 320 veered into the outside emergency lane. The vehicle subsequently veered back to the left and rolled over in traffic.

Seat Belts Not in Use

The 18-year-old driver from Greenacres and his six passengers were ejected from the vehicle, according to the FHP. No seat belts were in use in the vehicle at the time of the accident. All occupants of the Mercedes SUV were young men between the ages of 17 and 20 years old.

Two Other Vehicles Involved

A 2009 Honda CR-V, driven by a female motorist from New Jersey, then hit the SUV, and it was subsequently engulfed in flames. According to the spokesman, one of the ejected passengers was then hit by a 2014 Cadillac CTS operated by a 68-year-old female from West Palm Beach.

Six Injured, One Deceased

According to the FHP spokesman, two of the occupants escaped with minor injuries, and ambulances took them to Delray Medical Center. Four of the other individuals required transport to St. Mary's Medical Center. One sustained critical injuries, and the other three sustained serious injuries. The seventh individual died at the scene.
