A spokeswoman for the Florida Highway Patrol has provided details of a motorcycle accident that occurred near Lake Mary in Seminole County on Tuesday, April 28.
Motorcycle and Car Collide
According to the FHP sergeant, a 35-year-old motorist from Sanford, operating a 2013 Toyota Prius, was making a left turn from Lake Way Road to Spinnaker Way at approximately 2:40 p.m. The Prius allegedly turned into the path of a 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle. The teenage motorcyclist laid his motorcycle down, but he still crashed into the right side of the Prius.
Victim Was Wearing A Helmet
Authorities state that the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The Lake Mary resident was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, but he did not survive.
Although the investigation into this tragic accident is still ongoing, Florida state law does allow a victim, or his survivors, to seek compensation when injury or loss of life occurs due to the negligent conduct of another. In such cases, compensation is often pursued for unpaid medical expenses, pain-and-suffering, lost wages and other losses. When a loss of life occurs, survivors often seek compensation for loss of companionship and burial expenses.
