If you live in Stuart, you may have noticed that the two Southbound lanes of Roosevelt lane were closed for part of the weekend. At about 5 p.m. on Sunday, the Stuart Police responded to a traffic accident involving a motorcycle and a truck.
According to the police department’s official Facebook page, the motorcyclist was airlifted to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center and Heart Institute. Local police are investigating the accident, but neither the truck driver nor the injured motorcyclist has been identified.
The cause of the accident has not been confirmed, but TC Palm accompanied its information about the accident with an informative video about aggressive driving and road rage. The publication also shared stats that aggressive actions are a factor in up to 56% of fatal crashes.
Aggressive driving includes behaviors like tailgating, weaving in and out of traffic, illegal passing, and more.

Unfortunately, the crash we’ve described above is not the first tragedy near Roosevelt Bridge. In 2017, a fatal motorcycle accident occurred just north of the bridge, claiming the life of a 27-year-old motorcyclist.
