FHP Asks for Help Identifying Suspected Hit and Run Drivers

While crossing the street on the evening of Friday, November 13th, a 49-year-old pedestrian was hit by not 1 but 2 vehicles, both of which fled the scene. Now, the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is searching for the suspects.

The first vehicle, a two-toned pickup truck (light on top and dark on the bottom) hit the woman while she was in the northbound lanes of Dixie Highway. After the initial impact, a white Toyota Camry sedan also struck the woman, who died at the scene. FHP Troopers told TCPalm the pickup truck has damage on the right side and that the crash happened in front of the Golden Gate Center for Enrichment.

Because “both vehicles fled the scene without stopping,” FHP is working to identify the suspects in an ongoing investigation.

If you know anything about the accident, please call Corporal Cranford at 772-468-4045 or 850-294-1689.

Justice After a Hit and Run

After hit and run accidents, authorities do their best to find the at-fault parties. Even if they make an arrest, however, the victim or their family is often left with serious injuries, medical expenses, and losses.

If you’ve been involved in a hit and run accident, you may need to seek compensation from your own insurance company. Still, because the situation is so complicated, you may also want an experienced attorney on your side. At Lauri J. Goldstein & Associates, PLLC, we are ready to walk you through the aftermath of any kind of car accident, and we have special experience with hit and run claims and uncooperative insurance companies.
